Every word wants to be heard

Words: the act of speaking or of making verbal communication -MerriamWebster

Isn’t it amazing how words that comes out of your mouth is a mode of communication?

How utterly free it is to define oneself with the words one says every day. Regardless of the fact how true or not it is. A freedom conveniently taken for granted by every one of us. We tend to speak our mind more than often for the sake of speaking, without evaluating the implications of our words. There is only so much we can hold on to each other, and that much trust comes from words. Remember the idiom “Stick and stones can break my bones but words would never hurt me” by  G. F. Northall? I’m sure if he were to live today, he would take back his words based on the number of defamation law suits that has cost people billions of dollars.

Regardless of the material damages, I often think words have more power than actions. Think how a small matter said by someone could change your mood, the way you think or even your lifestyle? That’s a life changing experience and most often, we tend to forget our source of inspiration to change. So whatever words that someone has told you that has inspired you, remember! You will only become better if you talk less and listen more. If you can’t keep your word, don’t say it because words do have the power of perception towards respect. If you are confident about your words, say it like you mean it and keep your word and eventually, you will be heard. Everyone is willing to listen only if you are wiling to listen to others.

I will walk the road to nowhere with you for hours
I will talk the endless conversations with you for days
I will listen to your voice for weeks
I will laugh with you for months
I will share with you for years
I will be with you for now...
Because forever is FICTION
