Kibou
The morning breeze poured serenity in her conscience like no other day. The morning stroll is starting to feel like a new found glory she never experienced but missed unbearably. Lurking down the road is a stray dog with deep sadness in its eyes. She couldn’t help but wonder if they were feeling the same thing. It is one of those days where emotions of the past hits back at you like a heart attack. She couldn’t help but reenact the moment in her mind of condescending hope that made her feel the world was against everything she ever believed in.
“I can’t even look at you anymore. This should have never happened! What the hell did I ever do to You to deserve this? You took everything away from me, my father, my career, my money and now my wife. You give me hope just to take it away. If there was an election, nobody would vote for you as God! What the hell am I going to do with the kids? I’m helpless without her. I’m nothing without her, I am no………..”
Her father collapsed on his knees, sobbing in agony all by himself after her mother’s vigil. He walked out the door and never came back.
That was the last time she ever saw him.
She walks down to the stray dog and pat its head.
“Come home with me. I will take care of you.”
She spread her arms gently and wraps her delicate warmth around it.
“I will never leave you.”
She walked back home with a new hope.
